Drawn animation is one of the most popular type of animation and was used many times in the early days of animation. The reason why drawn animation is used most of the time because it is fairly cheap comparing it to plasticine clay for claymation, all you need is drawing pads, paper and pencils. If you have good imagination and have decent skills in basic drawing it would be easier for you to plan out what you are going to animate. It can be about anything you can think of and the laws of physics don’t apply so you can make things happen that you couldn't do with other types of animation. Drawn animation however does have some draw backs. It is really time consuming depending on what you are trying to animate especially if it is highly detailed because each frame has to be drawn separately which could end up in using over a hundred pieces of paper depending on the animation. The process of animating can be very tedious too as you have to make sure each frame lines up with the previous frame so that it is almost perfectly in place. If you are doing a colored animation, it would be best to color it in with a photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or if you are blessed enough to own a drawing tablet then life would be so much easier.
